Christmas in the Capital …. July?

Sunday, July 30 2017

Well it was cold enough for Christmas! … at least outside 🙂

Capital Chapter and Goulburn Chapter teamed together to host ‘Christmas in July’ on Saturday 29th July 2017.  Complete with the Christmas Trees, baubles, tinsle, carols, turkey and puddin’, and even a visit from that big fella in the red suit!  We were entertained by the Queanbeyan Pipes and Drums — a little loud for the small room we were in — but thoroughly enjoyable.

Members travelled from afar to join us for a wonderful day.  A generous donation had been made of Careflight Care Bears which were auctioned on the day, ably directed by our Auctioneer Extraordinare Brother Eric Hunt.  Brother George Dobbin and Pianist Extraordinare Sister Judith Knight led us in song.

Many many thanks to those that worked in the Kitchen and on the preparations before hand.

A magnificent day of friendship …. and over $1,600 was raised for our Charities.
