Capital Chapter – learning how to save lives

Sunday, June 18 2017

Capital Chapter recently arranged for St John’s Ambulance ACT to deliver a free training session to our members on what to do if you need to attend to someone in medical distress.

Members were shown how to identify someone having a Stroke or a Heart Attack, what to do while the Ambulance is on its way, how to perform CPR and how to operate a Defibrilator.  It was fun and informative!

Our Chapter also now has a new First Aid Kit and are looking at the cost of a mobile Defibrilator.

This training is provided under the Project Resilience program in the ACT.  Chapters in other states should check their local branch and see if such training can be provided to your members.
