Beenleigh celebrates 40th Birthday

Beenleigh Chapter No 199 celebrated their 40th birthday Installation on Saturday 16 February.  The Chapter was instituted on the 17th of February 1979.

The banquet, including the cake, was prepared by the Worthy Matron Elect Sister Elaine Gray.  She was ably assisted by the Worthy Matron Sister Rhonda Nelson and Sister Cathy Beattie.

The “rainbow” cake was cut at the banquet by Sister Val Greaves the Foundation Conductress, Brother Ian Smith, Foundation Associate Patron and Sister Patricia Smith Foundation Associate Matron.

Sister Patricia Smith was acknowledged during the meeting for her dedicated service as Organist for, in total, over 30 years.

Sister and Brother Smith have reluctantly declined to take office in the Chapter because they live just too far away to be able to attend the evening meetings.

Beenleigh Chapter has certainly benefited from the excellent service of these two Members – for over 40 years!
